The Reich des Drachen is one of the major factions of Perisno. They occupy the snowy lands to the northeast, and are bordered by Drahara to the south, the Kingdom of Tolrania to the southwest, and Maccavia to the west. They are led by Kaiser Otto IV.
Lore[]
The Reich Des Drachen originated on a small continent North-East of Perisno. It is rumoured that actual dragons resided in their homeland - or used to. Their homeland is known as Tanniynheim. The Reich are a very mysterious group and almost nothing - other than where they originate - is known about them. They arrived at Perisno in the year 363. It was clear from the moment they landed that their intentions were not to trade, but to conquer. With the massive armada they brought, the Reich deployed thousands of soldiers onto Perisnoan soil. The Reich swiftly colonized some native cities and transformed them into large, industrial metropolises. Fortresses and fortifications of tremendous size were constructed in ‘their territory’ and soldiers patrolled the borders regularly. The surrounding factions were wary of this new threat but did not act out of fear. Reports of dragons accompanying the Reich from their spies were made, although this claim was disputed, for the Reich had yet to reveal them. The Reich Dragon Priests spread across Perisno, preaching their faith to all. The head of the Dragon Priests wants to be king. Although he needs more men to aid him.
Government[]
The Drachen government is a monarchy, and their mysterious emperor rules through divine right. He claims the dragon Gods have proclaimed him king and it is his right to rule the world under their decree. His right-hand man is the mysterious High Priest of the Dragon. It is rumoured that the High Priest is plotting to overthrow the Emperor, who he thinks is unworthy. He searches for a capable mercenary or adventurer to assist him.

Strategy[]
The Reich Des Drachen is a well-rounded faction with a focus on heavy armour, cavalry and pikes. The primary strength of the Drachen is their heavy melee cavalry, as they have the strongest commoner melee cavalry of the major factions. The Drachen Dragoner is a heavily armoured cavalry that deals devastating damage with their lances on the charge and axes in close combat. Their infantry line consists of heavy infantry, with an emphasis on pikes and throwing weapons. Their best infantry, the Elite Drachen Speerkampfer, is a strong anti-cavalry unit that also throws axes, damaging oncoming enemies. The Kaiserlichen Drachen Scharfschütze deal serious damage and are arguably the strongest human archers of the major factions.
The Drachen noble tree only consists of heavy melee cavalry in the form of Drachenritter, which is among the strongest melee cavalry in all of Perisno. They are strictly melee cavalry, as they do not have a lance and only wield a one-handed axe with a shield.
The Drachen troop composition favours the hammer and anvil tactic. The Drachen infantry of Speerkampfers are able to hold the line long enough while the Scharfschütze rain fire down on their enemies. The Drachen cavalry can take the left and right flanks, and with their vast amount of cavalry, the Drachen are able to hit their enemies devastatingly hard in the back.
Another tactic the Drachen can use is to not bring any infantry at all and go with a full cavalry army. This tactic requires a lot of cycle charging for the cavalry to be used at its most efficient, as the couched lances of the Dragoners will deal significant damage to the enemy with each charge. Though highly mobile and dangerous, this tactic is risky, as Perisno has plenty of anti-cavalry tools.
Trivia[]
