In Perisno, noble troops are faction recruits that cannot be obtained from villages. Instead, they must be obtained from castles and towns belonging to the faction - at very low amounts, unless the player owns the town. The nobles obtained from a town or castle are normally the nobles of the faction that owns them, although if the player owns the town, they have the option to select if they wish to recruit the nobles of the original faction. Furthermore, if the player is the ruler of a kingdom, they can choose the culture of their kingdom to select which nobles they would recruit in the fiefs belonging to them. Favouring no culture over others has the nobles be the ones of the original faction that owned the fief at the start of the game.
In Perisno there are many noble troops that cannot be gained by normal means. To obtain them, the player must be a vassal of the faction whose noble troops they wish to acquire. The player can then recruit noble troops to their own party from castles and towns the faction they are part of own.

  +
  +
Noble troops, in exchange for being rarer, are usually stronger and faster to train than the common troops, and/or fulfil certain niches within the army. Tolranian and Maccavian nobles, for example, have one branch as the only melee cavalry in their troop tree, while the other branch is a stronger version of a common troop. Most noble trees also only reach up to tier 2, but are already equivalent in strength to the faction's tier 6 troops, making them much faster to train if the player and their companions are high enough level to train the tier 1s. The few available tier 3s surpass most of what the common troops of the faction has to offer.

When compared to their common brethren, the nobles of Perisno field proper heavy cavalry and armoured horse archers both.

The Ranger Knights serve as their only bow-wielding horse archer(only horse archer, if not including the maiden tree), and although lacking in number of ammunition when compared to other horse archers, make up for it by having high damage per shot and serviceable melee capabilities.

The Great Knights, meanwhile, are heavily-armoured knights compared to the less-armoured common shock cavalry. They wield spears to ride down lone troops and to help them serve as anti-cav if ever dismounted, but their main armament are swords.

Finally, Perisno is one of the three factions to field T3 nobles, in the form of the Paladin. Perisno Paladins are one of the strongest cavalry in the game, combining heavy armour, powerful and tough warhorses, highly-resistant shields, and very strong swords all with very high skills and proficiencies.

Only Tolranian nobles can serve as heavy cavalry in the armies of Tolrania, though some of them still prefer fighting on foot along with their common brethren.

  +
Knights are typical heavily-armoured shock cavalry, armed with lances, longswords, and morning stars, all common armaments in Tolranian armies.
  +
  +
The Tower Knights meanwhile, are infantry akin to Kingsmen, but much stronger. They fight on foot armed with powerful morning stars and equipped with very durable shields, which, when combined with their own shield skill, makes them nigh invulnerable to archers and most crossbowmen. When fighting against cavalry or finding their shields somehow broken, they can switch to using a powerful abendstern that can easily crush through most blocks.
  +
  +
Finally, Tolrania is one of the three factions that field T3 nobles, in the form of Paladins. Tolranian Paladins are nearly identical to the weaker Knights, except stronger, and armed and armoured with better equipment, the red greathelm in particular being their defining feature.

Drachen nobles, if not recruited to become household troops of certain lords, eventually end up in combat as Drachenritters, one of the strongest T2 noble cavalry in Perisno.

Latest revision as of 18:22, 12 December 2022

List of Noble Troops

Note: the first troop in each list is the base noble troops that can be recruited from castles/towns. The following troops can be upgraded from that base troop.

Perisno Paladin

Perisno Ranger Knight

Notes

Notes

Only Tolranian nobles can serve as heavy cavalry in the armies of Tolrania, though some of them still prefer fighting on foot along with their common brethren.

Knights are typical heavily-armoured shock cavalry, armed with lances, longswords, and morning stars, all common armaments in Tolranian armies.

Finally, Tolrania is one of the three factions that field T3 nobles, in the form of Paladins. Tolranian Paladins are nearly identical to the weaker Knights, except stronger, and armed and armoured with better equipment, the red greathelm in particular being their defining feature.

Notes

The Reich des Drachen specialize in melee cavalry and their own nobles are no different. Drachen nobles, if not recruited to become household troops of certain lords, eventually end up in combat as Drachenritters, one of the strongest T2 noble cavalry in Perisno. Compared to the common Dragoner, they are not equipped with lances and make do with charging their horses to infantry lines and hacking away.

Notes

When compared to the common tribesmen, Draharan nobles serve as additional heavy melee cavalry and proper heavy shielded infantry both.

The Royal Riders are stronger, more heavily-armoured versions of the common War Rider, except lacking lances.

Dune Guardians meanwhile, are heavy shield infantry meant to plug weaknesses of Draharan infantry, in particular that their Assassins are so focused on offense that they lack shields.

Maccavia

Notes

When compared to their common brothers, Maccavian nobles serve as both cavalry and infantry, with the knights being the only cavalry among non-household troops.

Black Knights are heavily-armoured melee cavalry that are armed with warhammers to help crush through heavily-armoured troops or take prisoners.

Knights of Steel, meanwhile, are heavily-armoured infantry that come with siege crossbows. They also serve as fief guardians, and the crossbows and CTB 2h-axes help deal immense damage to besiegers.

Notes

The nobles of Elintor serve as defensive-focused archers compared to the commoners. Although their archery is roughly alike, they trade extra quivers for proper shields and better armour, allowing them to soak more damage from arrows and enemy melee troops than the common Rangers.

Notes

When compared to their common recruits, Hakkonese nobles both serve as cavalry but with different purposes.

Hakkon Imperial Knights are heavily-armoured cavalry primarily focusing on field battles and getting straight into the fight. They are armed with a sword and shield or a two-handed war hammer while having a chance at spawning with pila

Hakkon Imperial Cavalry meanwhile, are medium-armoured cavalry that comes armed with a sword and shield plus a heavy crossbow. While being capable in close quarters, they are also to serve as a ranged unit when dismounted, making them doubly useful at siege battles and field battles.

Notes

The nobles of the Realm of the Falcons serve the same role as their commoner counterpart. The Frod Ridere Fealcan come with a lower total armour value but makes up for this by having higher stats and proficiencies. They come bearing swords instead of the maces used commoner counterparts.

Notes

The nobles of the Valahir clan serve as hybrid units compared to the commoners and are one of the 3 factions with T3 nobles.

The Valahir Jarl are well shielded melee infantry that has a chance of spawning with a bow, allowing some of them to damage their enemies from afar before cutting them down after emptying their quiver.

The Valahir Asbjarl is an upgrade to the Valahir Jarl, being superior in every way. They now wield the mighty bastard weapon known as the Spirit of the North, allowing them to inflict more damage in close quarters as they may use it as a 2 handed weapon.

When compared to the common tribesmen, Aroulo nobles serve as heavy melee cavalry and light shock infantry.

The Beast Slayers wield massive two-handed hammers capable of crushing through blocks. These men make up for their lack of armour by being swift and deadly warriors.

Beast Masters ride atop bears, donning the best equipment available to the Aroulo culture. Armed with piercing macuahuitl and obsidian spears, they are a force to be reckoned with.

Notes

The nobles of Zann are medium shock infantry and melee cavalry that thrive in close quarters combat. The Daimyos and Kamikaze Warriors are quick warriors that swing their blades rapidly, hacking away at their enemies at an alarming rate.
