The Freelancer Guild is a minor faction that inhabits an outpost on the western shores of the Kingdom of Tolrania. It is led by Augustus Makmix.
Lore[]
The Freelancer Guild began as temporary outpost built to harbor Augustus and his men when they were stranded on the coast of Perisno years ago. Upon seeing the potential for profit in the constant conflicts of the land, Augustus began to sell his men under mercenary contracts to lords in need of additional manpower. In the years since his arrival, Augustus has greatly expanded the Freelancer Guild's operations and trains some of the most highly skilled mercenary troops that can be found anywhere in Perisno.

Aside from being found in several mercenary escorts of lords, they are also the favoured field troops of Count Kantar of the Kingdom of Tolrania and Lord Svend of Maccavia, the latter of which prefers the Freelancers' infantry and archer lines.
Additionally, if the player is a monarch they can order a vassal to switch their party template to using Freelancer troops.
The player themselves can buy Freelancer troops by going to their outpost and talking to Augustus. They can choose between
- Freelancer Recruits for 30 aurums
- Freelancer Soldiers for 100 aurums
- Freelancer Archers for 100 aurums
- Freelancer Riders for 400 aurums
Note that these Freelancers are limited in number: Augustus can store a maximum of (15xPlayer Level) and restocks 50 per day. He will inform you of how many are available.
Finally, the player can hire a mercenary company of Freelancers from the High Marshal. They come in two types: Freelancer Cavalry and Freelancer Infantry, and as their name implies only field their respective branches.
